There will be a School Council meeting on Tuesday, January 16 in the library at 6:30. New members are always welcome.
We are planning a Multicultural Day again this year building on the success of last year. We would like to add a food component and each classroom is going to take on a country to celebrate. We are looking for parents from different cultures to volunteer to help with the food. Please contact myself or your child’s teacher if you are willing to help or would like more information. Costs for the food will be covered by the school. The event date is not finalized but it will be the first week of March.
The information for the ski trips will come out this week. The intermediates (Gr. 7-8) will be heading to Mansfield ski club again this year on February 7 and Grade 4-6 students will be going to Chicopee on February 21. Ski rentals will be available but students who wish to snowboard must have their own equipment. Parents are welcome to join us.
Libby Barrie from Woolwich Community Services will be visiting each class twice over the next two weeks. This year’s theme is “Stillness and Light: Finding Friendship on Life’s Path”. The lessons focus on stillness: calming intense feelings; light: finding a way through challenges; and growth: seeing the potential in ourselves and others. We welcome her back to St. Clement and look forward to her visits.
St. Matthew School is hosting an evening for parents on Thursday, January 18. The topic is childhood anxiety, parental intervention and how to help your child create the tools needed for a lifetime of wellness. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
