Umbrella Theme for the Month: Intrinsic Motivation: “You can look for external sources of motivation and that can catalyze a change, but it won’t sustain one. It has to be from an internal desire.” ~ Jillian Michaels

*DO YOU WANT TO EMPOWER YOUR CHILD TO ANTICIPATE AND PREPARE FOR LIFE’S RAINY DAYS? Mark your calendars! May 7th at 6:30 PM- Dr. Jen Forristal will be coming to St. Clements for a parent engagement night. This will be a presentation to speak to parents about reframing our children’s perception of challenges and strengthen their skills of well-being to positively cope with the everyday stresses of life. (Kindly arrange for babysitting for your children while you attend as to not interrupt the presentation).

Catholic Education Week is May 6-10. St. Clement School will be holding an open house for our Innovation Celebration on May 7th in the morning and May 9th in the afternoon. Parents are welcome to come at either one of these dates to check out the innovations that your child has completed for our Innovation Celebration. There is no set time, parents may arrive any time on May 7th between the hours of 9:00 – 11:30 or May 9th between the hours of 12:45 – 3:15 and stay for little or as long as they would like to see their child’s classroom and to look at the innovations that their child (and the class) have created.

ECO WEEK Explained

Light’s off Lunches: Simply open the blinds and turn off your classroom lights while your students eat lunch – a simple way to reduce our energy consumption.

Litter-less Lunch: Let’s try to reduce our waste by using reusable bottles and containers rather than using single use plastic or disposable packaging. This will help to reduce the energy required to create and recycle disposable containers and reduces the amount of waste put into our landfill by mistake.

Eco Catch-a-Kid: Catch the students doing something “green”. Give them an Eco catch-a-kid to place in the appropriate brown bag (separated by division) at the top of the stairs. Draw on Friday, April 26th.
