Celebration of Students and Staff
Our staff and students have done an outstanding job leading our community. We have had wonderful virtual assemblies the past few weeks. We had a reflective Virtual Remembrance Day Assembly and we were reminded of our freedom due to the sacrifices of many men and women. We have had virtual public service announcements for Anti-bullying /Friendship/Gathered to Become Week along with the Kindness trees that grew and grew and grew because of the amazing acts of kindness that Saints show to one another. Our school continues to be a great place to grow and learn! I hope that you had a chance to check out our Twitter feed to see many of these great things.
Progress Reports/ Initial Observations & Parent Teacher Interviews
Your child will receive their Progress Report/Initial Observation today, November 20th. It is our hope that you take some time to review their progress with them, praise their efforts and set some goals with them for the term.
Parent- teacher remote interviews are scheduled to take place from November 23 to November 27th. The classroom teacher will contact you to arrange a date and time for your interview. You may also contact the classroom teacher to request an interview if you have not been contacted yet. All interviews will take place by pone or other virtual method. There will not be any face to face interviews as per WCDSB protocols.
Spiritual Development Day: Monday November 23rd
Monday November 23rd is our Spiritual Development Day across Waterloo Catholic District School Board. This means no school for students, and the Extended Day program is not being offered at any schools. Our entire system will be participating in a variety of faith-based activities for the day.
Feast of St. Clement
The Feast of St. Clement is on Monday, November 23rd. Since this is a PD Day, our school community will be celebrating the feast day on the following day, Tuesday, November 24th. Students will be participating in a school wide virtual liturgy in celebration of our feast day.
St. Clement Parish News
St. Clement parish has asked that I inform you that if you wish for information regarding Sacraments, kindly visit the parish website for information: stclementsparish.com.
Individual Picture Day: November 27th
Just a quick reminder that Friday November 27th is our school picture day. Lifetouch has been our board approved photo provider for many years and we are glad to be welcoming them to our school. Please know that all COVID protocols will be followed. We will only be taking individual student photos; there will not be a class photo taken this year.
COVID numbers seem to be on the rise…and you are the solution, Saints!
Please complete the “School Screening” tool online that can be found at this link: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/ You are the best defense against the spread of the virus at St. Clement CES. If your children are exhibiting symptoms, please do not send them to school. We look froward to seeing everyone attend school, so please help by doing your part.
Mask wearing is important. Please ensure that your child’s mask fits properly over their mouth and nose and for bus students kindly remind your child to keep their mask on during their entire bus ride. Thanks for helping to keep your child and other children safe.
Support for our Angel Tree
It’s that time of year again when our thoughts turn to others and we focus on the spirit of giving! St. Clement School has always whole-heartedly participated in the Mary’s Place Angel Tree Fundraiser. In the past, this was done by donating a new, unwrapped gift and placing them under the Christmas tree in our Library. This year, however, due to the COVID restrictions we will be collecting donations exclusively online. Our Christmas tree will still go in our Library, but our gift will be a donation towards helping to pay for meals, rather than purchasing a gift.
There is no limit-high or low- to the number of donations or the amount. Please think about those in our community who might be in need this year as Christmas approaches and make a donation today.
This is such a wonderful cause, we are hopeful that you will consider helping Mary’s Place for Christmas. You can donate here:
