Below you will find an announcement that was made to the students this morning.
“Some of you may have already heard from your families or friends or from the news that there is a possibility of a strike affecting our school, beginning on Monday morning.
If there is a strike, it means that some of our school staff will not be coming to work.
We hope and pray that this will not happen – but if it does, it means our school will have to close until the strike is over, and you will not be able to come to school.
We are doing our best to make sure your families have as much information about this situation as possible. They can keep up to date by visiting the school board’s website.
If our school does have to close on Monday, we hope it will only be closed for a short time and we can all be back together in our classrooms soon.”
In the event of a CUPE strike on Monday, October 7th parents are asked to check their normal media outlets as they would in the event of an inclement weather school closure.
In case of inclement weather, the radio stations will broadcast information regarding sever weather warnings, school closure and bus cancellations. Families may want to have a plan in place at home to respond to the radio announcements. Bus cancellations and school closure notices affecting the schools within the Waterloo Catholic District School Board will be given between 6:45 and 8:30 a.m.
