Tomorrow is Rowan’s Law Day in which we will have discussions to raise awareness about concussions and learn how to stay safe and healthy. We likely have all bumped our heads or body! In sports and active games, there can be risks involved. Rowan’s Law was passed in Ontario in honour of Rowan Stringer and also helps people who get concussions recover. All schools in Ontario must have rules in place to support awareness and help coaches, teachers, and parents know when a child has suffered a suspected concussion. It also lets the child know that they should immediately stop participating in physical activities and when they may safely return to play again.
Students may chose to wear purple as a sign for Rowan’s Day but we understand that some students may want to choose something else seeing that it is picture day.
Lifetouch is coming tomorrow for Picture Day to take individual pictures of students and staff. Please see the Lifetouch video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LevtvXI9l2Q which shows the steps that they are taking to ensure Picture Day is safe for everyone.
Pictures are to be ordered directly via mylifetouch.ca using this Picture Day ID: QX551193Q0
