COVID-19 Child Benefit: Final Day to Apply and Eligible Vaccinations Reminder

A couple of Reminders Saints:

The provincial government has been offering various financial support opportunities to families during COVID times over the past year. The latest is called the Ontario Covid-19 Child Benefit. The deadline for application is Monday, May 17th. Please follow this link: https://www.ontario.ca/page/get-ontario-covid-19-child-benefit

The Province of Ontario announced that as of the week of May 31, youth in Ontario between 12 and 17 years of age and their family members who have not received a vaccine, will be eligible to book an appointment to receive their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, including at special dedicated youth and family clinics throughout the weeks of June 14 and 21, 2021.

The province will work with Region of Waterloo Public Health and our school board to offer second doses of the vaccine by the end of August. Click here to read the Provincial Announcement: https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1000124/ontario-extending-stay-at-home-order-until-june-2

Get Vaccinated if you are Eligible!

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) encourages all who are eligible to pre-register to receive their vaccine from Region of Waterloo Public Health. Link here: https://www.regionofwaterloo.ca/en/health-and-wellness/covid-19-vaccination-pre-registration.aspx

When possible – and to best support your child(ren) with their learning – please be mindful of school hours. However, if you are only able to book an appointment during the school day, please do so. This is an important opportunity to prioritize the health of all in our community.

We are asking anyone who is eligible, including education workers, to make sure they are pre-registered on the Region of Waterloo Public Health Website: Link here: https://www.regionofwaterloo.ca/en/health-and-wellness/covid-19-vaccination-pre-registration.aspx

Details to Follow

The WCDSB will be working in coordination with Region of Waterloo Public Health and other local partners to develop a plan, and will share more information as it becomes available.

Stay Safe, Saints!

You don’t have to make dinner tonight, Saints!

Hey Saints,

The week can be a grind sometimes and having to decide what to make for dinner can be tough – especially during lockdown. Well not tonight! Tonight is our FIRST EVER NEW ORLEANS PIZZA FUNDRAISER NIGHT!

You can contact the New Orleans restaurant (see the attached flyer) and we receive 50% of the profits for orders placed between 4:00-8:00 pm!

The best part is, anyone can order and our school will still benefit! Your relatives, friends, neighbours can also contact New Orleans Pizza and place a order and they would be helping our school.

Please send me some pictures of our students enjoying their pizza!

Bon Appetit, Saints!

Remember… tomorrow is our Pizza Fundraiser!

Tomorrow (Monday) night from 4-8 pm!

St. Clement School is partnering with New Orleans Pizza in St. Clements – keeping it local – for our fundraiser this year. Just order pizza(s) tomorrow on Monday, May 17th from 4-8 pm and HALF OF ALL OF THE PROCEEDS made that night will be donated to the school. It’s as easy as that! We look forward to supporting a local company and our school on May 17th.
Mark your calendars for tomorrow May 17th  from 4-8pm! We thank New Orleans Pizza for their generosity in supporting our school!

Youth Impact Survey – Ages 9-18

Youth Impact Survey

Youth in Waterloo Region between the ages 9 and 18 have the opportunity to participate in the Youth Impact Survey.  The Youth Impact Survey was developed in partnership WITH young people in Waterloo Region and asks well-being questions on a variety of topics.
Last summer, the Children and Youth Planning Table, UNICEF Canada, the Canadian Index of Wellbeing, and the Ontario Trillium Foundation partnered to run the pilot version of the Youth Impact Survey in Waterloo Region.  The survey included questions about belonging, mental and emotional health, security, protection and other topics.  Waterloo Region was the first community in Canada to test out the survey and after getting feedback from the youth who filled it out in 2020, and with a new partner, KW Community Foundation, the survey is running again.
Phase 2 of the Youth Impact Survey includes Waterloo Region and 3 other communities in Canada.  (Ottawa, Halton, and Tri-Counties in Nova Scotia).  In order for the survey to be a success, Waterloo Region needs 1000 youth aged 9 – 18 to fill it out and the results will help inform the decisions made about programs, services, and supports available to young people.  This is an opportunity for young people to feel valued, heard and included.
The 20-30 minute survey is totally voluntary and anonymous and youth who fill it out will receive volunteer hours and a chance to win prizes.  Click here for more information.
