Happy International Nurses Day

Today is  International Nurses Day  which is recognized on May 12th and is the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. We want to extend our deepest gratitude for the contributions and heroic actions of nurses especially during the pandemic.

Kindergarten Registration is STILL Open!!

Several years ago, we established a very easy-to-use online pre-registration portal to make the registration process as convenient as possible.

Parents of children scheduled to begin JK in September 2020, are encouraged to complete the pre-registration process as soon as possible.

There will still need to be some in-person contact with the school, but that will be handled at an appropriate time after the COVID-19 crisis has passed.

For non-Catholic families wishing to register in a WCDSB elementary school, your school Principal will reach out to you to complete the required interview process – again – at an appropriate time in in the most appropriate manner, including via phone.

Please CLICK HERE for all the information you need to start the registration process!

Upcoming Catholic School Advisory Meeting

Please consider joining us at our last meeting of the year on  Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 6:30 pm. We will be connecting virtually through Google Meet. If you are interested in joining our conversation, please email Andrea.Dafoe@wcdsb.ca to receive the meeting link.

St. Clement Update

Good Morning Saints:

I hope that all of our moms, grandmas, aunts and family friends who love our Saints had a very blessed Mother’s Day!

I pray that Saints families are well and remaining safe as we all follow the public health recommendations. I want to take some time to thank  all of you who are frontline, emergency, or essential service workers. I appreciate your courage and heroism. May God bless you and keep you safe while you service our community.

Last week we celebrated Catholic Education Week. Our wish is that this week helped to “Ignite Hope” for you during this time. We are anticipating and looking forward to seeing you again.

We appreciate the efforts that families are putting into Teacher-Led Remote Learning. It is strong in our community and while we understand everyone is working at their own pace, teachers are still taking virtual attendance through student/parent activity on the virtual platform and contact with students or families. Teachers will follow up with a personal phone call or email if we have not heard from you at least once a week to check in, to see if everything is okay and to offer help with any platform learning. Kindly respond to these phone calls or emails as we will continue to call until we are able to reach you.

Here are some further Updates:

  1. On Tuesday, April 14, 2020 we asked our #WCDSBAwesome community this very important question: How Are We Doing? We asked, you answered! Thanks for your ThoughtExchange Feedback! The response was extraordinary. To view the responses, please visit https://wcdsb.ca/wcdsblearnhome-how-are-we-doing/
  2. Being at home all of the time is a big adjustment for anyone, and this feeling is multiplied especially if you have little ones. We want you to know that we know you are doing all you can. You may feel lonely, but you are not alone in this. And now, more than ever, you need to remember to take care of yourself. Carizon has launched https://www.carizon.ca/ an easy, self-serve website that has free wellness resources and activities to help you and your family while staying home.
  3. Friday’s theme Day…Wacky Hair Day was …well… a little wacky 😊. Saints were so creative with hair dyes, googly eyes, ponytails, braids, etc. to make their hair wacky. Thank you for sending your photos to your classroom teachers so that they could be tweeted out. With this success, we are going to continue Friday Theme Days. Here is the schedule, as each week will have a different theme:

May 15 – Silly Face Friday. Nothing makes you feel better than a giggle or a laugh. Show off your silliest face today. Be sure to send a picture to your teacher of you wearing your silly face!

May 22 – Mismatch Friday – Two different socks, a sweater with your shorts, red and black stripes top with blue and green plaid pants?? Whatever creative you can find around your home!

May 29 – We   our pets! Send us a picture of you and your pet. No pet?…No problem? Send us a pic of you and your stuffies!
