Kindergarten Registration is STILL Open!!

Several years ago, we established a very easy-to-use online pre-registration portal to make the registration process as convenient as possible.

Parents of children scheduled to begin JK in September 2020, are encouraged to complete the pre-registration process as soon as possible.

There will still need to be some in-person contact with the school, but that will be handled at an appropriate time after the COVID-19 crisis has passed.

For non-Catholic families wishing to register in a WCDSB elementary school, your school Principal will reach out to you to complete the required interview process – again – at an appropriate time in in the most appropriate manner, including via phone.

Please CLICK HERE for all the information you need to start the registration process!

St. Clement Staffing Update

I bring you some bitter sweet news of staffing changes at St. Clement School. We want to say good-bye to Mr. Gassler who will be leaving our community on April 22, 2020. We welcome back Mrs. Gies who was on a maternity leave. Mr. Gassler and Mrs. Geis will be collaborating together for a smooth transition. We are very happy to have Mrs. Geis back and wish Mr. Gassler all the best of luck in his future endeavours.

Mr. Gassler wanted to send a message to share with the students:

Hey Saints!

I am sad to say that I will not be able to finish out the year with all of you, but I am truly grateful for the year we have had so far. All of you have welcomed me into the St. Clement community with open arms and really made me feel like part of the family. 🙂 I am so proud to have seen all of you grow throughout the year as students and human beings, and can’t wait to see the impact you make in the world. Thank you so much for making my year something I will never forget!

Take care, be safe, and have fun!

Mr. Gassler

St. Clement Update

Hello to all our Saints students and families!

Our staff continue to miss you and are hoping each of you are remaining healthy and safe. We are super proud of our students for completing the first week of our teacher-led distance learning – YOU’RE AWESOME!

As we enter into our second week, we want to reinforce that your family’s wellness is our first priority. We truly appreciate that this is a very different time for each of you as you support the varied needs of your family/work life. Our teaching staff, early childhood educators, and support staff continue to collaborate to provide educational opportunities for your children. Please reach out to your child(ren)’s teacher should you have any concerns or questions. We will do our best to make this new form of learning manageable for all. Please visit the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uc-NoZ0ksM&feature=youtu.be for a webnar from Dr. Jen Forristell of the Umbrella Project.

If families are considering buying a new computer/device, The Green Tech and Computers For Schools info can be found in Tips for Parents and on your school website for BYOD site https://wcdsblearnathome.wcdsb.ca/tips-for-parents/.  There is also information on a free learning device/computer offerings for low income families:

Finally, we extend our thanks to the essential workers out there. We encourage our children to “look for the helpers” during any time of challenge – as there are always people helping – beginning in our own wonderful families. We continue to think about you and pray for your continued safety as you serve our community.

Thank you 💙 💛 !

Thought Exchange

WCDSB is launching a Thought Exchange today with our community.  We are hoping that staff, parents and students will offer us feedback on our response to COVID19 and the changes we have had to make as a school system.  Below is the link that leads to the question, along with some introductory text.

https://my.thoughtexchange.com/763676673

The Survey will remain open until Tuesday April 21st, 2020.

If you have any difficulty with the survey, questions can be sent to: wcdsbresearch@wcdsb.ca

Thought Exchange Question:

As you consider Waterloo Catholic’s response toward learning at home, what questions or concerns do you have?
