Reminders for the Upcoming Week at St. Clement

Umbrella Theme for the Month: Autonomy: “Love… is the honoring of others in a way that grants them the grace of their own autonomy and allows mutual discovery.”
A reminder to parents that the Ministry required school climate survey will be implemented from March 18th to April 5th in our WCDSB schools. Grade 4 – 12 students will take part. Parents are also encouraged to complete the parent survey provided by the school during this time.
Many of the WCDSB parent school councils have differing names: parent council, school council, advisory council. Moving forward WCDSB will use the term Catholic School Advisory Council to name the parent committee that contributes to this very important role within our Catholic Schools. The name: Catholic School Advisory Council (CSAC) will more clearly define the advisory role of the council as well as highlight the catholic lens from which all of our decisions are made.
*DO YOU WANT TO EMPOWER YOUR CHILD TO ANTICIPATE AND PREPARE FOR LIFE’S RAINY DAYS? Mark your calendars! Dr. Jen Forristal will be coming to St. Clements for a parent engagement night. She will be speaking to parents about reframing our children’s perception of challenges and strengthen their skills of well-being to positively cope with the everyday stresses of life.

School Climate Survey for Parents

Dear Parents of St. Clement CES:

The WCDSB has a Ministry requirement to conduct a School Climate Survey every two years with students, staff and parents. We are asking that you please complete the parent survey between March 18th and April 5th, 2019. It can be accessed through this link:

https://wcdsb.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8A2BYWebSfj90Ed?school=CLT

The focus of the survey is on bullying/harassment of students. Strategies for addressing bullying/harassment include annual training for all staff, our playground supervision schedule and plan (including zones), staff use of official Ministry forms for reporting bullying to the principal, weekly class meetings, and a whole-school Restorative Circles Justice approach. Also, information related to our school’s code of conduct is included at the front of all student agendas. Although we formally raise awareness about prevention of bullying and harassment during the Ministry’s Bullying Prevention and Awareness Week every November, at St. Clement CES, we always address bullying when it is reported and emphasize on a daily basis the importance of treating each other with respect.

Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey!
