Requested Parent Action Items:

  1. We have launched our fall fundraiser. More information is found here. We are looking to raise money to support outdoor classroom programming and the building of a Gaga Ball Pit! Find out more information about what a Gaga Ball Pit is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWM_z6__3_Y  Please consider donating to this cause. We are currently at $1723…just under halfway to the money needed for the outdoor equipment!!
  2.  Please ensure that you are able to access your students’ Learning Managment System (either Google Classroom or D2L Brightspace). If you are unable to, please reach out to the Classroom Teacher asap. This is a vital communication tool.

General: Grade 4 & 5 tutoring, Girls Basketball, Boys Volleyball, Choir, Social Justice Club, Innovation Buddies, Enviro Club, Games Club, Lego Club, and Student Council are happening!!

Staffing: The Waterloo Catholic District School Board Human Resources department continues to work on filling of vacant teaching positions. Due to province-wide teacher shortages, many positions currently remain vacant each day. We are doing our best and appreciate that our team is pitching in to help as best as we can. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through the staffing shortage. #betttertogether

Halloween costume guidelines– please no masks (below the nose is okay), scary, bloody, or cultural appropriation. Please do not bring props. We are strongly discouraging inflatable costumes, but if you choose to wear one it will only be allowed in the Peace Garden at recess and during the parade. The Staff has decided that you are welcome to send in Halloween treats for your child’s class on Monday, October 31. They must be prepackaged and nut free. This is in no way mandatory, only if you wish.

Are you looking for more Saints Spirit Wear?? Our friends at Marchants have set up a shop just for us. Orders will be delivered in time for Christmas. A separate message will be sent.

Wednesday hot lunches are back. Please purchase through Cash Online. New Orleans pizza will be each Friday. In order to avoid disappointment, please order pizza by the due date, as it can not be reopened. We order pizza far in advance for the whole month. All of November’s pizza orders are now closed. December orders are now open. There will be no refunds if your child is absent and you purchased a lunch. We will do our best to redistribute, please be aware that there are many last-minute requests in a very busy office.

All staff and students must self-screen every day before attending school. All staff and students who are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 as identified in the screening tool, must not attend school and should follow the guidance provided in the screening tool, which may include seeking appropriate medical attention as required, and/or getting tested for COVID-19. Prayer

God of all seasons, we thank you for Autumn.

We thank you

for the touch of coolness in the air that gives us a new burst of energy,

for the coloring of trees that shows the creativity of the Divine Artist,

for the falling leaves that reveal the strength of the branches,

for the hues of fields that bring peace to our souls,

for the smiles on pumpkins that bring joy to children,

for the fall harvest which that brings us gratitude for the bounty of our land,

for this change of seasons that reveals the circle of life.

God of all seasons, as you transform the earth, transform us by your Spirit.

Amen
