Important Reminder about Signing In or Out: If your child is leaving early or arrives late, please ensure that you have signed them in or out of the Main Office. We understand that parents may want to allow children to bring toys to school to play at recess. Please remind students that they are not to “trade” or “give away” their toys. What they bring to school is what they should bring home.

On September 23rd our school will be proudly participating in the Terry Fox School Run. Over 9,000 schools across Canada are taking part in the run this year and that means that over 3 million students will be fundraising for cancer research in Terry’s name. This is one of our favourite events of the year – we get to celebrate the life of Terry Fox, his Marathon of Hope, and show our incredible school spirit as we come together to help others.

We all know that Terry Fox is one of our greatest Canadian heroes but sometimes we forget how hard his struggle was and why we continue to do the Terry Fox Run every year. Our event this year is an opportunity to take action, show leadership, and set examples of compassion and kindness towards others. Students will be staying on school grounds and each class will have an opportunity to participate remaining in their division (Kindergarten- Grade 3 and Grade 4- Grade 8). Each student will receive a freezie treat after their run/ walk. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have an issue or concern with this. Please send your child to school prepared with running shoes, a water bottle and a red/ white outfit to show support for our Canadian hero!

Please consider supporting us in our mission, and help us raise funds for cancer research. You can make an online contribution through the St. Clement page https://schools.terryfox.ca/15988/donate

Thank you for your support on behalf of the staff at St. Clement School.

AUTUMN PRAYER

God of all seasons, we thank you for Autumn.

We thank you

for a touch of coolness in the air that gives us a new burst of energy,

for the colouring of trees that show the creativity of the Divine Artist,

for the falling leaves that reveal the strength of the branches,

for the hues of fields that bring peace to our souls,

for the smiles on pumpkins that bring joy to children,

for the fall harvest which brings us gratitude for the bounty of our land,

for this change of seasons that reveals the circle of life.

God of all seasons, as you transform the earth, transform us by your Spirit.

Amen
