Children Signing Out at Lunch

Greetings!

We need to ensure that the children are safe.

Starting in January, only children in Grades 7 & 8 will be able to sign out on their own at lunch.

It has always been our practice/policy that if a child signs out or you have signed the lunch dismissal permission they are gone the entire lunchtime and return for 12:30.

This has not been the case lately, students are bringing in notes and coming and going at all times and we are unable to have a clear account for their attendance.

We are also seeing children trying to cross the busy Lobsinger Road and hanging out at the plaza with no supervision.

If parents would like to sign out younger children (FDK-Grade 6), we ask that you follow the regular sign-in and out procedures to pick them up and drop them off.

We appreciate your anticipated cooperation to keep everyone safe and supervised.

Please note, that if you have already completed the School Cash Online lunch permission form for your child, those arrangements will remain.

This Advent, Lord, come to the manger of my heart. Fill me with Your presence from the very start. As I prepare for the holidays and gifts to be given, Remind me of the gift You gave when You sent Your Son from Heaven. The first Christmas gift, it was the greatest gift ever.

Please ask your child about what they have learned about the first week of Advent.

All students, parents, teachers, and other school staff have the right to be safe, and to feel safe, in their school community. With this right comes the responsibility to contribute to a positive school climate. Please be reminded that when communicating with a staff member, we are requesting that you be kind and treat each other with respect. Rude or inappropriate communication will not be accepted.

Communication between the parents and the school is very important to us.. Each teacher has a different, yet completely appropriate way of communicating with families. A suggestion is to take a look at the D2L for the classroom, look at the child’s Google Drive, and ask your child.  Parents, please take a moment to read over the student agenda. We would like to highlight our school guidelines around homework.

How you can support your student:

Thank you for not parking where there are no parking signs, this keeps the driveway clear and available for emergency vehicles. We request that all parents park in the parking lot or at an appropriate space on Lobsinger Line when bringing students to and from the Extended Day program. Please note that cars parked in the no-parking areas may be ticketed as a Bylaw infraction.
